While many thought that the smartwatch revolution would quickly fade into obscurity along with other technologies of a bygone era, the smartwatch industry is in fact showing no sign of slowing down. Recently, Fossil announced its latest foray into Android wearables: the Fossil Sport Smartwatch.
Already being touted as the most colourful smartwatch ever released, not only does the Fossil Sport make a great fashion statement, it’s also one of the most powerful smartwatches ever produced.
Two Standout Features
The Fossil Sport comes in 6 colours and offers two standout internal features, i.e. the new and updated Google smartwatch operating system known as Wear OS and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 3100 chip. The aim of the 3100 chip is provide the watch with a better battery life and all new abilities never seen before on a smartwatch.
Created with the Design-Conscious in Mind
While most smartwatches are only available in 2 or 3 colour options, Fossil has opted to create a smartwatch with the design-conscious consumer in mind. The Fossil Sport is available in 6 colours – silver, gold, dark grey, red, blue, and pink – and an incredible range of 28 interchangeable silicone straps available to purchase separately. Pops of colour seems to be all the rage in tech at the moment as can be seen by the recent release of the Apple iPhone XR which is available in 6 colours almost as bright as your favourite real slots NZ sites.
Two Sizes to Choose From
As Steve Evans, executive vice president of the Fossil group, stated: “We know our consumers want versatility both in their activity and their accessories, which is why we wanted to bring a smartwatch to market that is a fit for every style”. As such, not only are there 6 colours and 28 silicone bands to choose from, but the Fossil Sport is also available in 2 sizes – 41mm and 43mm. The interchangeable silicone straps are also waterproof.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 3100 Chip
Apart from the bright colours, what sets the Fossil Sport Smartwatch apart from the others is the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chip. As most users know, the battery life of smartwatches is a major concern, but the 3100 chip promises a major improvement in this regard. The Fossil Sport should provide 24 hours of battery life and 2 additional days in battery saver mode. The chip will also provide other features such as an enhanced ‘ambient mode’ and better watch faces.
Preloaded with the Updated Wear OS
Separate from the new Snapdragon Wear 3100 chip, the Fossil Sport also comes preloaded with the newly updated Google smartwatch operating system, Wear OS. With an improved shortcuts menu, more attractive and legible notifications, built-in Google Assistant, and an all-new Google Fit app, the Fossil Sport is everything we could’ve hoped for.
